Udalguri (Assam), 10 July (HS): Incidents of clashes between elephants and humans are continuing in the state. In the latest incident, a 48-year-old man killed in Ghopakona area of Udalguri district, while a wild elephant entered his house and crushed him in the early hours of Thursday. The deceased has been identified as Shukdas Panika, a resident of Tanki Basti Ghopakona.
On the other hand, a 14-year-old teenager was also attacked by a wild elephant in the Bhutiachaang area on Wednesday night, in which he was seriously injured.
There is an atmosphere of panic among the villagers due to the Forest Department not being able to find any permanent solution to stop the increasing attacks of elephants.
