Guwahati, 10 July (HS): As part of the nationwide employment initiative of the Government of India, the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) will organize job fairs at three major locations - Guwahati, Dimapur and Siliguri on July 12 at 10:30 am. Organised by the Ministry of Railways in collaboration with other central ministries, these job fairs aim to distribute appointment letters to newly selected candidates for various central government posts. This initiative is an important step towards empowering the youth and strengthening public service through large-scale employment generation.
Sources informed that 47 job fair sites have been finalised to be held simultaneously across the country, from urban metropolises to small regional centres. These events are being coordinated by Indian Railways and will be graced by Union Ministers and Members of Parliament who will personally hand over the appointment letters to the selected candidates. This initiative reflects the Government's firm commitment to accelerate employment opportunities, streamline public recruitment and connect youth to secure and meaningful careers in government service.
A total of 625 candidates selected for various posts in different government departments will be handed over appointment letters at the fair hosted by NFR Zone. In Guwahati, the event will be held at NFR's Rang Bhavan at Maligaon and will be graced by Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal. The venue at Dimapur is Town Hall, Super Market Lane, Half Nagarjan where Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs Kiren Rijiju will be present. In Siliguri, the job fair will be held at VIP Officers Rest House, Kashmir Colony, New Jalpaiguri where Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways Ajay Tamta will be present.
