Delhi, 10 July (H.S.): The monsoon is actively affecting various regions across India, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall in central, eastern, northwestern, northeastern, and southern states.Wind speeds of 40–50 km/h and possible lightning incidents are anticipated, prompting public advisories for safety.
In Madhya Pradesh, heavy rain is expected from July 10 to 15, particularly on July 10 and 11 in Vidarbha and July 10 in Chhattisgarh, along with warnings for very heavy rainfall from July 10 to 12. Other regions such as Sikkim, West Bengal, and Odisha will also face heavy rain during this period. Northwestern India, including eastern Rajasthan and Uttarakhand, could experience significant rainfall between July 10 and 15, with potential for very heavy rainfall on July 10 across various states.
Western India is expected to see heavy rain in areas like Konkan, Goa, and Gujarat from July 10 to 15, especially in central Maharashtra's ghats. In southern India, coastal Karnataka and Kerala may experience heavy rain and strong winds during the same timeframe.
In northeastern India, scattered moderate rain, thunderstorms, and potential lightning will mainly affect Assam, Meghalaya, and surrounding states from July 10 to 15. The weather patterns have been influenced by disturbances leading to upper air circulation from the sea, connected to the monsoon trough across Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, and eastern India, along with a cyclonic movement in Haryana.
