New Delhi, July 10 (H.S): Minister of State for Road, Transport & Highways and Corporate Affairs Harsh Malhotra inaugurated the India Energy Storage Week 2025 session on India's Roadmap for Vehicle Electrification in Delhi. He emphasized the Modi Government's commitment to green mobility and EV manufacturing through initiatives like PM E DRIVE and FAME-II. Highlighting India's progress as the fastest-growing major economy, he advocated for policies such as EV retrofitting regulations and toll tax exemptions to enhance sustainable transportation accessibility.

Minister Harsh Malhotra asserted that transitioning to electric mobility is crucial for achieving climate goals, maintaining economic resilience, and ensuring energy security. He mentioned the development of Multi-Modal Logistics Parks integrating various transport modes with green energy provisions to lower costs and emissions, positioning India as a clean transport hub.

The government's goal of generating 500GW of renewable energy by 2030 was also underscored, urging stakeholders to create an electric transport future that is safe, inclusive, and environmentally responsible. He highlighted the importance of battery storage technologies tailored to India’s needs and called for investments in local R&D, battery recycling, and reuse.

The minister concluded by acknowledging significant industrial growth over the past 11 years, aligning this momentum with the Prime Minister's 2070 Net Zero target.
