Delhi, 10 July (H.S.): The Central Government has approved Rs. 1,066.80 crore for flood and landslide-affected states: Assam (Rs. 375.60 crore), Manipur (Rs. 29.20 crore), Meghalaya (Rs. 30.40 crore), Mizoram (Rs. 22.80 crore), Kerala (Rs. 153.20 crore), and Uttarakhand (Rs. 455.60 crore) from the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF).The assistance comes after severe rainfall, floods, and landslides during the southwest monsoon.
Under Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, the government is committed to aiding affected states. This year, the Centre has already distributed Rs. 6,166.00 crore from SDRF to 14 states and additional funds from various disaster mitigation funds. Logistic support, including NDRF, Army, and Air Force deployment, has been extended to assist the affected regions, with 104 NDRF teams active across 21 states and UTs for rescue and relief operations.
