Lucknow,

10 July (HS): The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) has gained a

seven-day detention for Jamaluddin alias Chhangur Baba and companion Neetu

alias Nasreen, who are suspected of running a 15-year-old religious conversion

scam. Authorities are investigating

their network, money activities, and unlawful homes, with demolition efforts

ongoing as part of a larger operation.

The Uttar Pradesh Police Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) has won a seven-day

detention for Jamaluddin, also known as Chhangur Baba, and his colleague,

Neetu, alias Nasreen, in connection with an alleged religious conversion

scam. Additional Director General of

Police (ADG) Law and Order, Amitabh Yash, corroborated this information. The authorities intend to question suspects

about their suspected network, cash trails, and illicit assets. The group is said to have been active for 15

years, reportedly promoting religious conversions.

The

case against them is moving forward, with the two main players granted a

detention order to investigate more into the gang's operations. The crackdown became more intense when

Chhangur Baba's homes were demolished. Notably, Uttar Pradesh Minister Anil

Rajbhar denounced their acts, comparing the damage on women's lives to

treason. Investigations also seek to

identify further unlawful properties related to the accused.
