10 July (HS): Officials claimed on Thursday that a mentally disturbed man
allegedly murdered a railway employee before leaping in front of a speeding
train at Prayagraj railway station. The event happened on Wednesday late night.
Railway Protection Force (RPF) Inspector Amit Kumar Meena stated that the
accused, who is thought to be mentally ill, attacked railway employee Amit
Kumar Patel with an iron rod on a platform at Prayagraj railway station.
When
RPF Constable Madhav Singh stepped in, the accused attacked him as well.After the incident, the accused was
surrounded by RPF troops and passengers before jumping in front of the
approaching Purva Express and dying on the scene, according to Meena. According
to CCTV evidence, the accused seems mentally unbalanced, he claimed.
Patel
was transported to a local hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.
According to Meena, Constable Singh is now
getting therapy. The identity of the accused has yet to be determined. Officials stated that further inquiry is
underway.
