Dhaka, June 09(HS): Former President of Bangladesh Abdul Hamid returned home to Dhaka at around 1:30 AM on a Thai Airways flight after receiving medical treatment in Thailand. He left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 2:45 PM without requesting special protocols, as confirmed by Group Captain Ragib Samad.

Despite significant political unrest and protests in August of the previous year, which saw many Awami League leaders flee, Hamid chose to remain in Bangladesh. He traveled to Bangkok for medical issues after nine months and is reportedly involved in a murder case filed on January 14 at Kishoreganj Sadar Police Station, which also implicates former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and several others. Hamid served as President from 2013 to 2023.
