Eviction drive near Hanuman Mandir in Dhubri amid tensions over suspected beef recovery

Dhubri (Assam), 9 June (HS): The situation in the area has remained tense since suspicious beef (cow's head and skin) was found in the Hanuman temple complex located in Ward No. 3 of Dhubri on Sunday. In this connection, the Dhubri district administration informed on Monday that several hotels and shops located near the Hanuman temple have been evacuated by running a bulldozer.

Local people alleged that banned beef was being served in an eatery located near the temple. Taking these allegations seriously, the administration took action against several shops and hotels in the said area and demolished them.

With the help of bulldozers, temporary shops and eateries built on the main road and footpath were removed.

At the same time, the district police administration has deployed police force on the spot to keep the situation under control. It is noteworthy that on Sunday morning, there was a lot of tension in the city due to the information of suspiciously finding cow's head and skin in the Hanuman temple complex.
