Shimla, 7 June (H.S.): Vice-President of India Jagdeep Dhankhar arrived in Shimla on Friday for a two-day visit to Himachal Pradesh. He was warmly welcomed at Annandale helipad by Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Deputy CM Mukesh Agnihotri, and public works minister Vikramaditya Singh. A ceremonial Guard of Honour was presented to him at Raj Bhawan, where he will be staying.
On Saturday, Dhankhar is scheduled to attend a dialogue program at Dr YS Parmar Horticulture and Forestry University in Nauni, Solan. His arrival caused a temporary traffic disruption in Shimla as roads were closed between Annandale and Raj Bhavan from 11 am to 11:45 am, resulting in significant congestion. Barricades have also been set up on Shimla’s Mall Road for security during the Vice-President's visit.
