Two Naxals killed in Bijapur, weapons recovered


Bijapur/Raipur, June 7(HS): On the third day of operations in Indravati National Park, Bijapur, security forces have killed two Naxals and recovered automatic weapons. Superintendent of Police Jitendra Yadav confirmed ongoing success in the anti-Naxal campaign.

On Thursday, forces killed Sudhakar, a Central Committee member with a bounty of one crore, and on Friday, Bhaskar, a Telangana State Committee member with a bounty of 25 lakhs. In total, four Naxals, including two top commanders, have been eliminated. The operation involves the DRG, STF, and Cobra Battalion, targeting an area previously seen as a secure stronghold for Naxals. Recent encounters on May 21 resulted in 27 Naxal deaths, including Basva Raju, who had a bounty of 1.5 crore, after 31 were killed in the Karregutta operation.
