London, June 7(HS): Tottenham Hotspur has sacked head coach Ange Postecoglou just days after winning the Europa League 2025 title. The club's statement cited performance review and deliberation as reasons for the decision, marking a significant shift despite the triumphant victory over Manchester United. Tottenham clinched the title with a 1-0 win on May 22, their first major trophy in 17 years.

However, the club's lackluster Premier League performance, finishing 17th with only 38 points, prompted the board to act. The club emphasized that assessments must not be made based on emotions and acknowledged Postecoglou's contributions. Postecoglou, who joined from Celtic in 2023 on a four-year contract, expressed pride in the achievement but likened the series to a best show having an even better third season. His tenure at Tottenham concluded prematurely, just two years after taking charge.
