Jammu, 7 June (H.S.): A teenaged child died while his mother suffered injuries in a road accident at Gangyal area here, officials said.

Binu Devi (40) of Ramnagar at present Polythene Factory, Gangyal, and her 15-year-old son Rohit Kumar, were hit by a four-wheeler in Gangyal area on June 2nd, resulting in injuries to the duo, they said.

They were immediately taken to Government Medical College Jammu, where the injured child breathed his last around 2:13 am today, officials said.

After conducting the post-mortem, police have handed over the body of the child to his legal heirs for conducting the last rites while a case under the relevant sections of the law already stands registered at Police Station Gangyal with further investigation set into motion, they said.
