Imphal, 7 June (HS): Security forces conducted intensive search operations and area domination operations in the border and sensitive areas of hilly and plain districts of Manipur. During this, a huge cache of arms and explosives have been recovered from two districts.

Police said on Saturday that an American-made M16 rifle, a bolt action rifle, three) pull mechanism rifles, three) improvised mortars, five) mortar bombs, one) Motorola set and one) bulletproof jacket were seized from the general area of Kotjim village (which is located 4.5 km northwest of Kotlen COB).

This action was taken under New Kaithalmambi police station area, Kangpokpi district.

Apart from this, four IEDs have also been recovered from another general area of Tengnoupal district.

The action of the security forces is part of efforts to restore peace and stability in the state.
