Odisha Government Constitutes High-Level Ministerial Panel for Rath Yatra Preparations


Bhubaneswar, 7 June (H.S.): In preparation for the upcoming world-renowned Rath Yatra of Lord Shri Jagannath in Puri, the Odisha government has formed a high-level ministerial committee to oversee and coordinate all arrangements for the annual festival.

According to a notification issued by the Law Department, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida will head the panel. The committee comprises several senior cabinet ministers, including those in charge of Law, Works and Excise; Health; Housing and Urban Development; and Commerce and Transport. The Principal Secretary of the Law Department has been appointed as the convenor of the committee.

The panel has been tasked with providing strategic guidance and ensuring comprehensive planning across departments to guarantee the smooth and secure conduct of the Rath Yatra, which attracts millions of devotees and tourists from around the globe.

The formation of this committee reflects the state government’s commitment to meticulous coordination and effective execution of one of Odisha’s most significant cultural and religious events. The committee will focus on addressing key aspects such as infrastructure, health services, transport, and crowd management to ensure a seamless and safe festival experience.
