Mumbai, 07 June (HS): The Superintendent of CIDCO
Land Records, Sanjipan Prabhakar Sanap, was arrested by the Anti-Corruption
Bureau sleuths while accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 for conducting a land
survey under the Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area (NAINA) project.
According to the ACB, the complainant’s friend had applied
for demarcation and survey of a piece of land falling within the NAINA project limits.
Sanap demanded a bribe of Rs 2 lakh for the survey. On June 4, a complaint was
lodged with the ACB, as the requisite government challan fees had been deposited.
Following a verification on June 5, a trap was laid on
June 6, and Sanap was caught red-handed while accepting part of the bribe.
A case has been registered against Sanap, and further investigation is in
progress.
