New Delhi, June 7 (H.S.): Eid al-Adha, also known as Eid-ul-Azha, is being celebrated enthusiastically nationwide today. Major mosques are conducting prayers for peace and prosperity, marking this festival as a representation of sacrifice and humanity in Islam. In Delhi, large crowds in traditional attire gathered at Jama Masjid for prayers at dawn. Following prayers, attendees exchanged wishes for peace and goodwill. Donations and ritual animal sacrifices are integral to the day, with strict security around Jama Masjid. Eid al-Adha prayers are also being held in regions like Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Mumbai, and Srinagar, with the sacrifice process commencing after the morning prayers and lasting until June 9.
