Jammu, 7 June (H.S.): Northern Army Commander, Lt Gen Pratik Sharma, visited the headquarters of the Army’s Strike 1 Corps in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, to review its operational preparedness.

The Corps, known for its swift offensive capabilities, is a key mechanised formation of the Indian Army.

During the visit, Lt Gen Sharma was briefed on the combat readiness and innovations adopted by the Corps. He praised the dedication and professionalism of the troops.

The Army Commander also visited the Northern Command’s transit camp in Jammu, where he appreciated the efforts of personnel in maintaining smooth transit support for troops.

He later toured the Udhampur Air Force Station and lauded the airmen for their high morale and commitment.

Lt Gen Sharma further visited Basantgarh in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir, a region that has witnessed terror-related activity in the past.

He assessed the security situation and commended the troops deployed there for their alertness and operational effectiveness in counter-terrorism duties.

He urged continued vigilance, proactive engagement, and adherence to the highest standards of professionalism.
