Guwahati, 5 June (HS): An awareness meeting was organised on Thursday at Shankardev Shishu Niketan, Hajongbari in Chandrapur under the aegis of Vidya Bharati Shiksha Sanskriti Nyas with the objective of making the environment pollution free. The programme was presided over by the Trust's President Sanchiram Payeng.

As the chief guest, Shishu Shiksha Samiti, Assam's General Secretary Jagannath Rajbanshi appealed to all to play an active role in this, while stressing on keeping the air, water and soil free from pollution as well as creating a plastic free environment. The meeting was attended by Shankardev Shishu Niketan, Hajongbari's Managing Committee's Nareshwar Basumatari, Shishu Shiksha Samiti, Assam's full-time worker Bhushan Goswami and Niketan's Vice-Principal Juri Goswami, along with all the teachers, students and more than 20 parents of the institute. During the program, various types of plants were also planted in the Niketan campus. --------------------------
