New Delhi, June 5(HS): For the first time, the production of the Rafale fuselage will occur outside France through a partnership between Dassault Aviation and Tata Advanced Systems. A new plant will be established in Hyderabad to manufacture the fuselage components for the Rafale fighter jet, with four production transfer agreements signed between the companies. This facility will mark a significant investment in India's aerospace infrastructure and aims to produce the main structural components, including the rear fuselage side shells and front section.
The first fuselage section is expected to emerge from the assembly line by financial year 2028, targeting a production rate of two complete fuselages monthly. Eric Trappier of Dassault Aviation emphasized that this initiative strengthens the supply chain in India, contributing to local production alongside Tata Advanced Systems, a key player in the Indian aerospace sector. The partnership aims to meet quality and competitiveness standards while bolstering India's role in the global aerospace supply chain.
Sukaran Singh of Tata Advanced Systems highlighted the significance of this collaboration for India's aerospace advancements, showcasing the company's capabilities and the enhancement of the aerospace manufacturing ecosystem in India. This endeavor aligns with Dassault Aviation's commitment to India's ‘Make in India’ and self-reliance initiatives, supporting the production of military and civilian aircraft. Both companies possess extensive experience in aerospace and defense, making this partnership crucial for expanding India's position in the global market.
