5 June (HS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday launched
the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam Abhiyan' by planting a vine sapling at the Chief
Minister's residence on the occasion of World Environment Day-2025. On this
occasion, the Chief Minister said that the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign will
continue from today till June 30. Dr Shyamaprasad Mukherjee's 'Balidan Diwas will
coincide with massive Van Mahotsav program from July 01 to July 07. A target
has been set to plant more than 35 crore saplings in the state. This sequence
will continue till August 15. Yogi Adityanath said that the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke
Naam' campaign makes us aware of the environment and forest culture. The world
is grappling with difficult environmental challenges. Man will have to find a
solution. We will have to coordinate and communicate with nature.
During
this, Minister of State for Forests (Independent Charge) Dr. Arun Kumar Saxena,
Minister of State for Forests KP Malik, Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh,
Principal Secretary (Forest/Environment) Anil Kumar were prominently present.
The Chief Minister, who arrived on a visit to Ayodhya, planted the sacred
Triveni Peepal, Banyan and Neem saplings in the 'Pushp Vatika' located in
Ayodhya Dham. Here the Chief Minister appealed to the people to plant a tree in
the name of the mother.
Deputy
Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya appealed to the general public that every
person should plant a tree in the name of their mother; this will be a precious
gift from you to your mother. He said that planting a tree in the name of your
mother will create an emotional attachment towards that tree and the feeling of
protecting it will always remain in your mind. He said that protecting the
trees is more important than planting them. He emphasized that you should
protect and care for the plants like your children.
The
Deputy Chief Minister was addressing the tree plantation program organized in
Majra Bharoswa of Devaria Bharoswa Gram Panchayat of Mohanlalganj as the chief
guest. Before this, he planted Harishankari (Banyan, Pakkad and Peepal)
saplings here. State President of Bharatiya Janata Party Bhupendra Singh
Chaudhary on Thursday inaugurated the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign by planting
trees at the State BJP Headquarters on World Environment Day. Bhupendra Singh
Chaudhary said that the campaign will start at the district level by planting
trees at all the district headquarters on Thursday. From 23 June, the martyrdom
day of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, to 15 August, tree plantation programs will
be organized at the booth level. Along with this, tree plantation will be done
after every campaign and program from 5 June to 15 August.
