New Delhi, 5June(HS): The domestic stock market exhibited strength in early trade today. Initially, both the Sensex and Nifty experienced a brief dip into negative territory due to selling pressure but quickly rebounded with buying support. After the first hour, the Sensex rose by 0.47 percent to 81,379.55 points, while the Nifty increased by 0.43 percent to 24,726.85 points. Among blue-chip stocks, shares of Eternal, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, Trent Limited, Cipla, and Adani Ports gained between 3.80 percent and 1.43 percent. Conversely, Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv, Axis Bank, IndusInd Bank, and SBI Life Insurance saw declines between 0.68 percent and 0.16 percent.
In total, 2,435 shares were actively traded, with 1,802 in the green and 633 in the red. In the Sensex, 23 out of 30 shares were positive due to buying support, while 7 were negative. For the Nifty, 39 shares were trading higher and 11 lower. The BSE Sensex opened today at 81,196.08 points and briefly dropped to 80,983.73 points due to initial selling before recovering. The NSE Nifty started at 24,691.20 points, also dipping to 24,613.10 points within the first five minutes but subsequently rebounding.
