Bhubaneswar, 5 June (H.S.):The Department of Rural Development, Government of Odisha, conducted its monthly review meeting at Lok Seva Bhawan today, chaired by Principal Secretary and Commissioner Smt. Yamini Sarangi.
The meeting reviewed the implementation and progress of key infrastructure schemes for the current financial year, including NABARD-RIDF, PM Janman, Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), Mukhyamantri Sadak Yojana, Kothabadi Scheme, Mukhyamantri Jansunani, and other flagship initiatives under the Rural Development Department.
District-level officers from across Odisha participated in the meeting virtually and presented detailed updates on the status of ongoing construction projects and associated components. Officials also discussed initiatives aimed at strengthening rural connectivity and ensuring last-mile access to remote villages.
Emphasising the importance of accountability and efficiency, Secretary Sarangi instructed officials to complete all projects within stipulated timelines while maintaining the highest standards of construction quality. She reiterated the department’s zero-tolerance policy toward any form of construction-related irregularity or substandard work.
The review also assessed project-wise progress across different rural construction divisions of the state. Discussions focused on project timelines, financial target achievement, and strategies for resolving execution challenges to accelerate field-level implementation.
