London, June 5(HS): West Indies women's cricket team captain Hayley Matthews' participation in the third and final ODI against England remains uncertain. She injured her left shoulder while fielding during the first ODI in Derby, which kept her sidelined for the second match. West Indies women's team coach Shane Dittus said after the 143-run defeat in the second ODI, She is going to London on Thursday morning; let's hope we get good news.

The England women's team, having won the first ODI by 108 runs, now has the opportunity to clean sweep both the T20 and ODI series during the tour with a win in the third ODI. England has already claimed the T20 series 3-0. Hayley Matthews had an outstanding performance in the T20 series and was named Player of the Series. She scored 177 runs with a strike rate of 137.20 and an average of 88.50. In Canterbury, she scored an unbeaten century, and in Chelmsford, she not only scored 71 runs but also took 3 wickets. Opener Kiana Joseph, who shared a partnership of 91 runs with Matthews in the first ODI, also missed the second match due to illness.

Coach Dittus expressed hope for her participation in the third match, saying, She looked very ill on the bus, so she was sent back for rest. Hopefully, she will recover in two days.In the second ODI, 20-year-old Reelyna Grimond from the West Indies made her debut with a score of 53 runs. She opened the innings with Zaidah James in the absence of both openers. Ditz praised her, saying, She showed that she has the capability to play at this level. If she continues to work hard, a long and successful career awaits her.

Additionally, Janilia Glasgow impressed in her fifth ODI innings, scoring 44 runs off just 24 balls. On the other hand, England's Amy Jones and Tammy Beaumont scored centuries in consecutive ODIs. After a partnership of 222 runs in Derby, the two added 202 runs in Leicester. Jones scored 129 runs off 98 balls, while Beaumont managed 106 runs off 109 balls despite the cold.

Beaumont praised Jones, saying, I am proud of her for improving on this innings after her first century. Our batting styles are different, which challenges the bowlers. England scored 366 runs, their second-highest ODI total to date. Emma Lamb contributed 55 runs, and Sophia Dunkley played a quick innings of 31 runs off 19 balls. The third and final ODI will be played on Saturday in Taunton, where England will aim for a clean sweep while the West Indies will look to save their honor.
