Anti-encroachment drive carried out near Muslim burial ground in Sambhal

Sambhal,

5 June (HS): According to authorities, an anti-encroachment campaign was

conducted out near a Muslim burial cemetery on Moradabad Road in the Chandausi

region here on Thursday. On Wednesday night, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM)

Vinay Kumar Mishra supervised an operation to clear encroachments from the area

near the railway crossing, using bulldozers.

Responding

to media queries about the move, Mishra stated that the effort was a

continuation of an anti-encroachment campaign initiated some six months ago. At

that time, it was discovered that the cemetery's perimeter wall stretched 10

metres beyond the legal limit. Mishra

stated that it was withdrawn freely and with mutual consent. It was also agreed

that any further encroachment would be removed willingly while the construction

of a road was ongoing. So, the remaining

impediments are now being removed, he added.

Mishra

stated that because the burial cemetery is near a railway crossing, it is

impossible to carry out such an operation during the day owing to high traffic.

That's why the task was done at night, Mishra explained. When asked how much

encroachment had been eliminated, the SDM stated that one side of the burial

site had roughly 10 meters of excess boundary wall, while the other had about 7

metres. These had been removed before.

Some graves were present in the encroached area, which have already been

leveled to eliminate the impediment, he stated.
