New Delhi, June 03(HS): The domestic stock market is experiencing a downward trend in early trading today. It opened positively but soon faced selling pressure, pushing the Sensex and Nifty indices into negative territory. By 10 AM, the Sensex dropped 0.36 percent to 81,078.30 points, while the Nifty fell 0.31 percent to 24,638.85 points. In blue-chip stocks, Shriram Finance, Mahindra & Mahindra, HDFC Bank, and IndusInd Bank gained up to 0.71 percent, while Adani Enterprises, Coal India, and Bajaj Finance lost between 1.27 percent and 0.86 percent. Among 2,399 actively traded stocks, 1,613 were in profit, while 786 were incurring losses.

In the Sensex, 9 stocks showed gains, while 21 were in the red, and in the Nifty, 14 were gaining and 36 were losing. The BSE Sensex initially opened 118.75 points higher at 81,492.50 points and briefly reached 81,774.23 points before falling. The NSE Nifty opened with a rise of 69.70 points at 24,786.30 points and peaked at 24,845.10 points before experiencing profit booking. On the previous trading day, the Sensex closed at 81,373.75 points, down 0.09 percent, and the Nifty ended at 24,716.60 points, down 0.14 percent.
