Bhubaneswar, 3 June (H.S.): In a major statewide operation, the Odisha Police have launched extensive raids on explosives warehouses across multiple districts to check for illegal storage and ensure compliance with safety and legal protocols.

The drive, currently underway in districts including Sundargarh and Keonjhar, is being carried out in response to growing concerns over public safety and reports of unauthorized storage of explosive materials. The coordinated operation aims to identify irregularities and prevent potential hazards associated with unregulated explosives handling.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Western Range, confirmed the ongoing inspections and stated that the objective is to verify documentation, assess stock levels, and ensure that all safety measures are in place at the inspected facilities.

Police sources revealed that the crackdown is part of a broader effort to reinforce legal compliance in the storage and handling of explosive substances, with further inspections expected in other districts over the coming days.
