Bhubaneswar, 3 June (H.S.)In a significant step towards safeguarding the rights and welfare of vulnerable children, the Odisha Government will conduct a comprehensive survey of orphans and children living with single parents across the state. The initiative aims to ensure access to basic needs, uphold the dignity of affected children, and strengthen protective mechanisms.

The Department of Women and Child Development (WCD) has issued detailed guidelines to all district collectors, outlining the methodology and formats to be used for the data collection process. The survey will focus on children in vulnerable conditions and is intended to serve as a foundation for targeted support and welfare measures.

According to the directive, the survey will be executed at the grassroots level by Anganwadi workers under the supervision of key district officials, including District Social Welfare Officers (DSWOs), Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Supervisors, Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs), and District Child Protection Officers (DCPOs).
