New Delhi, June 3 (H.S.): The National Board of Examinations (NBE) has filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking permission to conduct the NEET PG exam on August 3. Previously, following an order from the Supreme Court to conduct the exam in a single shift, the NBE had canceled the NEET PG exam scheduled for two shifts on May 15.A vacation bench headed by Justice Vikram Nath had instructed the NBE on May 30 to arrange for the NEET PG exam to be conducted in a single shift instead of two shifts. The Supreme Court stated that conducting exams in two shifts is an arbitrary decision that does not provide equal opportunities for all. The question papers for both shifts will not be of the same nature. Therefore, it is appropriate for the exam to be conducted in a single shift. The Supreme Court rejected NBE's argument claiming that it does not have sufficient centers to conduct the NEET PG exam in a single shift.
