New Delhi, June 3 (H.S.): The Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi has postponed the decision regarding taking cognizance of the supplementary charges filed against former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav in the money laundering case related to the Land for Job scheme. Special Judge Vishal Gogne has ordered a verdict to be delivered on July 9.During the hearing on Tuesday, Lalu Yadav, Rabri Devi, Tejashwi Yadav, Tej Pratap Yadav, Hema Yadav, and Misa Bharti, along with all the other accused in the case, were present in the court via video conferencing. Lalu Yadav, Rabri Devi, Tejashwi Yadav, Tej Pratap Yadav, Hema Yadav, and Misa Bharti requested exemption from appearing in court today, which was granted by the court.

The court stated that it needed some clarification regarding taking cognizance of the supplementary charges. After that, the court ordered the verdict to be delivered on July 9.In this case, on August 6, 2024, the ED filed the first supplementary charges against Lalu Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav, and other accused. Since then, the prosecution's permission to proceed against Lalu Yadav was awaited. On May 14, the ED submitted an authorization letter to prosecute Lalu Yadav in the court.Besides Lalu and Tejashwi, the ED's case involves Tej Pratap Yadav, Rabri Devi, Misa Bharti, Hema Yadav, Hridayanand Chaudhary, Akhileshwar Singh, Kiran Devi, Hazari Prasad Rai, Sanjay Rai, and Dharmendra Singh. The court had taken cognizance of the first supplementary charges filed by the ED on September 18, 2024. The chargesheet presented 96 documents as evidence.On March 7, the court granted regular bail to Rabri Devi, Misa Bharti, Hema Yadav, and Hridayanand Chaudhary in the ED's case. The court took cognizance of the chargesheet filed by the ED on January 27.
