Ahmedabad, June 3 (HS): Punjab Kings reached the IPL 2025 final by defeating Mumbai Indians in the second qualifier. Captain Shreyas Iyer discussed the team's journey and strategy during a pre-match press conference following their victory.Shreyas Iyer said, A captain's job is to get the best performance from his players. We found our rhythm at the beginning of the tournament, and each player then took responsibility. We have several young players who have performed strongly from the start. This is a major reason for our reaching the final.

Iyer scored an impressive 87 runs off 41 balls, overcoming early setbacks.He said about this, I like to play according to the conditions. I build my strategy based on the run rate, the pitch, and the bowlers. I try to take the match to the end. The plan has to be precise and should work on that day.While the team celebrated after the win, Iyer appeared calm. He said, I felt that my job is not complete yet. The final match is still to come. My focus was on recovery. I see it with the thought that half the job is done, and we have to step back on the field tomorrow.

After losing to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the first qualifier, the team made adjustments to their strategy. Iyer said, Every situation is different. We play accordingly. We can't go with a straightforward plan. Our young players are fearless and have now gained experience as well. They adapt quickly to the conditions When you step onto the field, there is only rivalry. There is no such thing as relaxation. It is a battle, and I will give my all so that my team becomes the winner.

Punjab will now faces Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL 2025 final at Narendra Modi International Stadium, Ahmedabad.
