Lucknow,
03 June (HS): The Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday adopted the Homestay and
Bed and Breakfast (B&B) Policy 2025, which aims to promote tourism, enhance
service standards, and create jobs across the state by improving lodging
alternatives. The decision was made after a cabinet meeting headed by Chief Minister
Yogi Adityanath.
Finance
Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna told reporters after the meeting that Uttar
Pradesh is worldwide known for its lively cultural legacy and draws a large
number of domestic and foreign tourists each year. This policy aims to improve the visitor
experience while promoting local economic growth.
Until now, homestay and B&B facilities in
Uttar Pradesh lacked a designated state policy and were required to apply for
accreditation through the Union Ministry of Tourism's 'Nidhi Plus' portal.
To
streamline operations and guarantee compliance with local legislation, the new
policy requires qualifying homestay and B&B units to get no-objection
certificates (NOCs) from appropriate local agencies, Khanna explained. The
Uttar Pradesh Homestay and B&B Policy 2025 establishes a framework for
providing different financial incentives and awards to recognized units, with
the goal of encouraging participation and maintaining acceptable service
standards.
The
policy also focuses on upgrading infrastructure, increasing service quality,
and boosting guest lodging alternatives. It is intended to strengthen the
state's economy, provide new job opportunities, and give tourists with a unique
and unforgettable experience, he added.
Khanna
noted the policy will improve tourist pleasure while also contributing to the
state's long-term economic growth by boosting hospitality infrastructure and
encouraging local participation in tourism.
