Mumbai, 03 June (HS): Acting swiftly, Akola Police

arrested the killer of a retired engineer from the Public Works Department (PWD).

Sanjay Kausal (60), who retired from the government service recently was attacked

by Mahendra Pawar on Monday when the former was returning home. Kausal was hit on the head and chest by an iron

bar, following which he died on the spot. Mahendra Pawar fled the scene after he

attacked Kausal.

Akola Police sent Kausal’s body for the post-mortem

and started a search for the attacker. Pawar was arrested on Tuesday morning.

Although the motive behind the attack was not known, police said Pawar has

faced imprisonment earlier in a different case.

Sanjay Kausal is the younger brother of senior Congress

leader from Akola, Vijay Kausal. Police are investigating further.
