Kaushik Batbyal, Jaipur Block President of Trinamool Congress in Bankura district, issued a strict warning to party workers and leaders, saying that anti-party discussions should be stopped in tea shops. If someone from within the party opposes, action will be taken. He gave this warning in the party workers' conference on Tuesday. As the Assembly Elections-2026 approach, factionalism is coming to the fore within the Trinamool Congress in Jaipur. According to the block president, a faction of the party is talking anti-party in tea shops. This politics in tea shops should be stopped. Otherwise, he warned of strict action.

According to people familiar with the politics of the district, the Trinamool lagged far behind the BJP in Jaipur in the last 2021 assembly and 2024 Lok Sabha elections. This result has put the local leadership of the ruling party under pressure. Therefore, they believe that the Trinamool Block President must have given this warning message. They believe that the inclusion of MLA Harkali Pratihar from BJP to Trinamool has caused discontent within the party. Many believe that this is a pre-warning, so that there is no problem when Harkali Pratihar contests again in the next election.

BJP leader Navkumar Chakraborty said that factional conflict in Trinamool is nothing new. Trinamool has understood that no one is in their favour. This comment has come out of that frustration. He also said that the block leadership has practically accepted in the workers' meeting that a faction of the party is involved in the opposition inside the party. Overall, the foundation of Trinamool is weak in Jaipur block. The block leadership is worried about this.
