Sonitpur (Assam), 28 June (HS): Water Resources, Information and Public Relations Minister of Assam Government and Guardian Minister of Sonitpur district Pijush Hazarika visited the district on Saturday and chaired a meeting held in the auditorium of Sonitpur District Commissioner's Office. In this review meeting, he took detailed information from the officials about the progress of public welfare schemes like Chief Minister Atmanirbhar Assam Abhiyan 2.0, Arunodaya 3.0 and Chief Minister Women Entrepreneurship Campaign.

MLAs Prithviraj Rabha, Ganesh Kumar Limbu and Krishna Kamal Tanti were also present in the meeting. The minister directed the officials to ensure 100% effective implementation of these schemes launched under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma and the benefits of the schemes should reach the eligible beneficiaries without any hindrance.

After this, Water Resources Minister Piyush Hazarika visited the Borachuburi area of D-Parbatia under Tezpur Assembly Constituency, where a torrent of Brahmaputra River has caused widespread flooding and erosion. The minister interacted with the local people and inquired about the situation and directed the departmental engineers to take appropriate measures to stop the erosion and control the flow of the river as soon as possible.

It is worth noting that if this stream is stopped, many parts of Tezpur Assembly Constituency as well as Medical College, ITIBP and Barsola area can get relief from floods.
