28 June (HS): Two workers tragically perished in a tank filled with animal
blood at an Aligarh meat processing facility.
Despite screams for help, both succumbed to the fumes and perished. A thorough inquiry has been launched to
determine any failures by management. A
sad tragedy claimed the lives of two workers at a meat processing plant in
Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. On Friday, Imran
and Asif were cleaning a tank filled with animal blood when they were overcome
by fumes, drowned. The plant, located on
the city's outskirts near Talaspur, experienced this unforeseeable calamity
when one of the workers became dizzy.
When he called for aid on the tank's steps, his colleague tried a
rescue, but both died as a result of the toxic atmosphere. Following the
participation of local authorities and party leaders, an investigation has been
launched, with the Pollution Department participating. According to Additional District Magistrate
Amit Kumar, initial findings indicate that no urgent senior oversight was
provided during the occurrence.
