Pune,
28 June (HS): Police in Maharashtra's Pimpri Chinchwad detained a
self-proclaimed godman on Saturday for reportedly engaging in voyeurism and
black magic. The accused, Prasad Bhimrao Tamdar, owned an ashram in the Bavdhan
region and promised to provide astrological and spiritual answers, according to
an official. According to authorities, Tamdar reportedly persuaded persons
seeking his advice to download a mobile phone application that granted him
access to them and instructed them to engage in sexual actions with women,
including sex workers, while surreptitiously recording these acts on his phone.
A
senior police officer stated that the accused reportedly contacted people and
promised to address their issues. Once he had their trust, he asked them to
download an app named 'Air Dried Kid' and then acquired covert access to those
who used it.
Tamdar
reportedly encouraged his followers to engage in sexual actions with women,
including sex workers, and covertly recorded these acts on his phone, he said. The
police got four complaints against the accused, who defrauded individuals and
wanted money for his ashram, he said. The official stated that a complaint has
been filed against the accused under the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita and Maharashtra
Prevention and Eradication of Human Sacrifice, Other Inhuman and Aghori
Practices, and Black Magic Act, 2013.
