Prayagraj,
28 June (HS): The malicious propaganda against Nand Gopal Gupta 'Nandi',
Minister of Industrial Development, Export Promotion, NRI and Investment
Promotion, Government of Uttar Pradesh has now taken effect of legal action.
The YouTube channel named 'UP Ki Baat' has now removed its false and baseless
video uploaded on 27 May 2025 from the platform.
In
this video, serious allegations were made against Minister Nandi such as
corruption charges, reprimand by the Chief Minister and irregularities in
departmental transfers. In the legal notice sent on June 20, 2025 through
Supreme Court advocate Siddharth Venkatesh Singh Thakur on behalf of the
minister, it was clarified that all these allegations are completely
fabricated, unproven and defamatory. These allegations have not been confirmed
by any official source, government document or Chief Minister's Office.
Minister
Nandi has served for more than two decades, during which he has done remarkable
work in many areas like industrial investment, employment and infrastructure
development. He has played a leading role in projects of national importance
like UP Global Investors Summit, Defense Industrial Corridor and Jewar Airport.
The channel, in a reply sent through its lawyer on June 24, acknowledged that
the video had already been removed. While it claimed that the video was for the
purpose of 'news presentation', its language and structure indicate that it was
deliberately aimed at maligning the image and spreading political malice.
Minister
Nandi, while reacting to the entire episode, said that, In a democracy,
everyone has the freedom of expression, but this freedom cannot become a medium
to tarnish anyone's reputation or to spread lies. He also made it clear
that strict action would be taken in such cases as per the law and there would
be no compromise with the truth. As per the judicial process, if the concerned
party repeats such an act in future, civil and criminal action will be taken
against him for compensation of defamation and damages up to Rs. 10 crore.
