Bongaigaon (Assam), 24 June (HS): Amid the ongoing process of expelling Bangladeshi nationals in the state, two Bangladeshi nationals were arrested in Bongaigaon, official sources informed on Tuesday.
In an operation by New Bongaigaon GRP in Bongaigaon district, two Bangladeshis were arrested by the police. Mohammad Ghulam Rabban was arrested first in the search operation of New Bongaigaon GRP. After some time, Ghulam's brother Asrul Islam was also caught in the action of RPF. Both the brothers are residents of Rajshahi district of Bangladesh.
They had come to catch a train at New Bongaigaon Junction with the intention of working as laborers in Mumbai. They planned to go by Tambaram Express train, but GRP foiled their attempt. Fake Aadhar cards of India have been recovered from both the Bangladeshis, which were prepared in West Bengal. The entire plan to go to Mumbai was made by a gang. They had entered Assam from Bangladesh via Meghalaya.
