- Main accused of beef dispute absconding-Army cantonment to be set up in Dhubri, Sacrifice will be stopped in Dhubri
Dhubri (Assam), 24 June (HS): Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma reached Dhubri on Tuesday. He held a high-level review meeting with the administrative and police officials of the district here and had an in-depth discussion on law and order. During the meeting, the Chief Minister has given many important instructions to the officials.
After the high-level review meeting, the Chief Minister said that the situation in Dhubri is peaceful at the moment. Mintu Ali, the main accused in the beef dispute, has been identified and is currently absconding. Mintu Ali's mobile phone is in the possession of the police. The Chief Minister has appealed to Mintu Ali to surrender. The Chief Minister has reached Dhubri for the second time today after the incident.
In fact, the situation became very tense after beef was thrown near the Hanuman temple complex in Dhubri city on the next day of Bakrid. So far 151 people have been arrested in the case of keeping beef near the temple.
The Chief Minister said that an army cantonment will soon be established in Dhubri. There are many irregularities regarding land ownership in Dhubri. He made important remarks regarding the land allotment to the Adani Group and said that land has been allotted to the Adani Group at three places in the state. Reacting to the protest against land allotment to Adani Group in Parbatjhora, he said that it is okay to protest, but is electricity needed or not?
The Chief Minister said that beef is sold in many hotels in Dhubri, the shopkeepers will have to stop it themselves, otherwise the police will take action. In future, sacrifice will be stopped in Dhubri. Appropriate legal action will also be taken against the officials and employees of the Animal Husbandry Department.
He said that there is a historical and prestigious Gurudwara in Dhubri. No one can eat beef within a radius of 5 kilometers of the Gurudwara. Those who believe in real Islam do not sacrifice cow in Hindu areas. He said that next time he himself will be present in Dhubri before Eid.
The Chief Minister also said that if Rakibul Hussain was a true leader, he would not have challenged the government. He said that the investigation of the Nabin Bangla case is going on and its results will come out soon. He said that many Jihadi organizations are active in Assam and many sleeper cells are present, but till they are caught, there is no end to the activities. They do not go, it cannot be said what their number is.
While talking to the media, in response to a question about a candidate who got selected by getting 2.25% marks in the TET exam, the Chief Minister said that he does not know what the rule is in this matter.
