Kanpur,

21 June (HS): “Yoga is such an activity which is now known not only in the

country but all over the world. By adopting it, people are making their lives

successful as well as keeping themselves healthy. The flame of yoga that Prime

Minister Narendra Modi had lit in the country 10 years ago is still burning

today,” remarked Uttar Pradesh Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana on Saturday. On

the occasion of International Yoga Day, thousands of people performed yoga

together on the theme of One Earth One Health organised by the district

administration at the Green Park International Cricket Stadium in Civil Lines

on Saturday. During this, the yoga guru present on the ground also told about

the benefits of performing different asanas. Government departments, social

welfare institutions and school children participated enthusiastically in this

program.

Assembly

Speaker Satish Mahana was present as the chief guest at the yoga program. He

also performed yoga. Along with him, District Magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh,

Police Commissioner Akhil Kumar, ADM City Rajesh Kumar, Divisional Commissioner

Vijayendra Pandian and new CMO Dr. Udaynath along with all the officials of all

departments were present.

Keeping

in mind the entertainment of the people who came to do yoga, selfie points were

made in the stadium premises, where people gave a message to the society by

taking selfies. Apart from this, all the people who participated in this yoga

program got themselves registered by scanning through QR code. They will now

also be handed certificates by the district administration.
