Washington, June 2 (HS): Two police officers were ambushed in Baldwin Park, Los Angeles County, on Saturday night, resulting in one officer's death. The incident occurred at 7:12 PM PT when the suspect, after being warned, opened fire on the officers. Officer Samuel Riveros was killed and pronounced dead at Los Angeles General Medical Center. Officer Anthony Pimentel was injured and is also receiving treatment there. Sheriff Robert G. Luna confirmed the suspect's arrest and the recovery of a rifle. Baldwin Park Mayor Alejandra Avila and the Baldwin Police Department noted Riveros' bravery and legacy.
