West Medinipur, 2 June (H.S.): A container truck loaded with cars caught fire near Krishnanagar parking on Kharagpur-Kolkata National Highway 16 near Kharagpur (2) block of Pingla assembly of West Medinipur district on Monday morning. This fierce fire not only destroyed the container but also destroyed the 8 shiny new cars kept in it.

As per information, the container truck going to Kolkata suddenly caught fire at around 4 am on Monday. The container truck started burning fiercely. In no time, 8 private cars present inside the container truck were reduced to ashes. On information, the fire brigade reached the spot. After about two hours of effort, the fire was brought under control. The police was also present on the spot. Due to the fire, traffic was disrupted for some time. Later when the container was removed, the traffic could become normal.
