Delhi, 19 June (HS): Air India, under Tata Group's ownership, announced a 15 percent reduction in international flights due to safety investigations following the Ahmedabad plane crash on June 12, Iranian airspace closure, and other technical issues. This reduction will be effective from June 20 and continue at least until mid-July. The airline stated the decision aims to ensure operational stability and minimize passenger inconvenience amid ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and curfews in parts of Europe and East Asia.

Air India has cancelled over 80 international flights recently and expressed regret to affected passengers, assuring timely communication regarding flight changes and alternatives. Passengers can reschedule without extra charges or receive refunds. The airline will also enhance safety checks for its Boeing 777 aircraft. By temporarily reducing services, Air India aims to increase reserve aircraft availability, improving its response to critical situations. A revised list of international flights will be provided shortly across all communication platforms to keep passengers informed.
