New Delhi, June 18 (H.S.): The domestic stock market showed signs of strengthening during early trading today after a brief decline. Following the market's opening, buying activity led to a recovery, with the Sensex rising by 0.17 percent and the Nifty increasing by 0.22 percent by 10 AM. Notable gainers included IndusInd Bank, Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra & Mahindra, Shriram Finance, and Titan Company, with gains between 0.99 percent and 4.37 percent. Conversely, Kotak Mahindra, NTPC, Bharat Electronics, Power Grid Corporation, and JSW Steel experienced declines between 0.34 percent and 0.89 percent. Of the 2,328 actively traded stocks, 1,555 were in the green, while 773 were in the red.
Among Sensex's 30 shares, 19 were in the green and 11 in the red, while for the Nifty, 34 shares were performing positively and 16 negatively. The BSE Sensex, which opened at 81,314.62 down by 268.68 points, saw momentum shift upward, trading at 81,719.12 and up by 135.82 points by 10 AM. The NSE Nifty opened lower at 24,788.35, down 65.05 points, but bounced back to 24,908.15, up by 24.75 points, marking a notable recovery from the previous trading session's losses where the Sensex fell 212.85 points and the Nifty dropped by 93.10 points.
