Chennai, 17 June (H.S.): Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. Ravi has issued a fervent appeal to the public to unite and actively participate in the 11th International Day of Yoga (IDY) on June 21, 2025, emphasizing the theme Yoga for One Earth, One Health. In a press release issued by Raj Bhavan on Tuesday, Governor Ravi underscored yoga's profound ability to integrate body, mind, and soul, promoting harmony and peace not only within individuals but also in society and the environment.
The Governor highlighted that yoga, an ancient Indian discipline, has transcended geographical boundaries to become a global movement, fostering well-being and a sense of universal brotherhood. He stated that the practice of yoga, by connecting individuals with their inner selves, cultivates a deeper appreciation for the interconnectedness of all life on Earth.
Raj Bhavan, in collaboration with Anna University, has launched an exclusive online portal (rajbhavan.tn.gov.in) to facilitate registrations for the June 21 IDY celebrations. Governor Ravi urged individuals, educational institutions, government departments, and various organizations to register and actively participate in the events, which will feature mass yoga demonstrations following the Common Yoga Protocol. Participants will also receive digital certificates, further encouraging widespread involvement in this global celebration of health and unity.
