Kathua, 17 June (H.S.): In view of the upcoming Shri Amarnath Yatra, DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua (JSK) Range Shiv Kumar Sharma today conducted a thorough security review at key lodging facilities in the city.
Accompanied by SHO Trikuta Nagar, Inspector Rajesh Jasrotia and other police officers, the DIG visited Saraswati Dham, Vaishnavi Dham, and Kalika Dham near the Railway Station Jammu to assess the preparedness on the ground.
During the inspection, the DIG checked the deployment of guards, functioning of CCTV cameras, parking areas, and the arrangements along the route to these dhams.
He issued necessary instructions to the SHO and officers on duty to ensure foolproof security in and around the premises.
Personnel deployed at these venues were also briefed about the sensitivity of the Yatra duties and instructed to stay vigilant and alert at all times.
The DIG also reviewed the strategies to handle the expected rush of pilgrims, including traffic regulation, availability of emergency services, and disaster management plans to tackle any health-related emergencies during the pilgrimage.
