Chennai, 17 June (H.S.): Veteran actor Rajinikanth has expressed his profound sorrow regarding the recent Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad, which claimed nearly 270 lives. Speaking to reporters at Chennai Airport on Tuesday morning, Rajinikanth conveyed his deepest condolences, stating, It's very saddening. I sincerely pray to God that such tragedies never happen again. His heartfelt words underscore the widespread grief felt across the nation following the tragic incident.

The Air India Flight AI171, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner bound for London, crashed into a medical college hostel shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad on June 12, 2025. The disaster resulted in 241 fatalities onboard and numerous casualties on the ground, with only one passenger miraculously surviving. Investigations are currently underway with experts from India, the U.K., and the U.S. analyzing the recovered black boxes to determine the cause of the crash.

Rajinikanth's comments came as he was en route to Bangalore for the second schedule of shooting for his upcoming film Jailer 2, directed by Nelson. He also provided an update on his other significant project, Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, which is slated for an August 15 release. Despite his busy schedule, the superstar took the time to address the devastating event, reflecting his compassion and concern for the victims and their families.
