New Delhi, June 16(HS): The stock market exhibited flat trading with fluctuations in the early hours of June 16. Both the Sensex and Nifty initially showed gains due to buying support but faced selling pressure shortly after market opening. By 10 AM, the Sensex and Nifty posted a modest gain of 0.07%. Major stocks like Cipla, Bharat Electronics, Power Grid Corporation, Bharti Airtel, and SBI Life Insurance had gains between 1.54% and 0.69%. In contrast, Tata Motors, Jio Financial, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, Hindalco Industries, and Coal India saw declines ranging from 4.72% to 1.19%. Out of 2,414 actively traded shares, 682 were in the green while 1,732 were in the red.

Among the 30 Sensex stocks, 15 gained and 15 lost, while in the Nifty, 26 were up and 24 were down. The BSE's Sensex opened at 81,034.45 points, down 84.15 points, but quickly rose to 81,409.06 points before succumbing to selling pressure. At 10 AM, it was trading at 81,177.89 points, a gain of 59.29 points. The NSE's Nifty opened at 24,732.35 points with a slight increase of 13.75 points, peaking at 24,817.65 points before turning negative, eventually recovering to 24,735.80 points by 10 AM, up 17.20 points. The previous trading day's close for the Sensex was 81,118.60 points, down 573.38 points, and Nifty was at 24,718.60 points, down 169.60 points.
