Imphal, 16 June (HS): Security forces in Manipur have succeeded to arrest three KCP outfits in two separate operations.

A police spokesperson said on Monday that the first action was taken at the eastern end of Sawombung bridge in Lamlai police station area of Imphal East district, from where Takhellambam Gandhi Singh alias Thouba (25) of KCP (MC Progressive) rebel group, was arrested. He is a resident of Thoubal MI Road, Nongangkhong Lai Leirak in Thoubal district and was currently living in Pungdongbam Awang Leirak, Imphal East. A mobile phone, a SIM card and an Aadhar card were seized from him.

The second action was taken from Shikhong Shemai Bazar in Nongpok Sekmai police station area of Thoubal district, from where two KCP (MFL) outfits were arrested. They include Songam Hungyo (19), a resident of Sada Lungthar and Toijam Jamson Meitei alias Boro (25), a resident of Kongpal Kongkham Leirak, Imphal East, who was currently living at Porompat Ponglambi, Imphal East. Two mobile phones have been recovered from both of them.

These actions of the security forces are considered a significant breakthrough in curbing militant activities in the state.
